Having trouble storing your wine in Singapore?
How to store and enjoy wines in Singapore?
Living in a country that’s summer all year round can be tricky to store your wine and enjoy it at a later date. Storing it incorrectly will alter the wine’s intended aromas and taste, or even worse, spoil the wine altogether. The only way to have proper wine storage in Singapore: a wine chiller, which replicates the typical French cellar and basement conditions, to create the perfect environment for storing wines!

Wine chillers provide storage conditions that are essential for you to enjoy wines the way it should be consumed. The storage temperature should be maintained between 12 to 18 degrees Celsius and the wine must be kept in a dark place to avoid oxidation which worsens the taste of wine. The bottle must also be stored horizontally to keep the cork moist and allow the exchange of air in and out of the bottle- a necessary process for the wine to age.
On top of that, serving at the correct temperature is essential to enjoy your wine. If you drink wine too cold, you won’t be able to smell its aromas; if you drink it too warm, you’ll feel like you're swallowing pure alcohol. As a rule of thumb, sparkling wines (including Champagne), white wines and Rosé should be enjoyed at around 9 degrees. Red wines should be served at about 17 degrees, which means that if you’re storing your wine at 12 degrees, you will have to take the bottle out of the chiller and let it warm up on your table for 15 minutes (adjusted for Singapore's climate) before serving it.
Therefore, it is essential that wine bottles are kept in a wine chiller, to optimize the storage and aging conditions, and to ensure that the wines can be readily enjoyed.
